YES: THE ADRIAN MITCHELL SHOW
(ALDEBURGH POETRY FESTIVAL 2009; CAMBRIDGE WORDFEST 2009; tOURING 2010--12)

'Fantastic! witty, moving, inspirational — please bring it back' — JULIET STEVENSON
Yes is a celebration of the life and work of Adrian Mitchell, one of our best loved, funny, passionate and political poets who was also a founder member of Wonderful Beast. This programme of his poems and songs was commissioned by The Poetry Trust and premiered to a sell-out audience at the 2009 Aldeburgh Poetry Festival. A triumphant, anarchic synthesis of words, jazz and rock-n-roll.

 AUDIENCE COMMENTS:

'Magnificent - it brought all the magic and joy of Adrian's work to life. It was as entertaining and moving as he always was.' -- ROBERT HERRIES

'An evening to remember for both performers and audience.' -- SUSIE BAILEY

'Mitchell's irrepressible love of life and his commitment to peace resonated loud and clear through the voices of his family and friends. Mitchell once remarked: "My poetry likes to say yes." How fitting, then, that over a year after his death, his poetry is saying yes more resolutely than ever.'
— ASHLEY SMITH, THE POETRY SOCIETY

'Great stuff! It's many a year since I enjoyed an evening so much.' -- VERNON ROSE
