25 YEARS OF WONDERFUL BEAST

(aldeburgh jubilee hall 27th november 2022)

'It seemed to me that these stories were not only invaluable for children but for all ages. They’re rooted in timeless moments that eschew age division, when families, friends, children and babes in arms gather together to entertain one another, grow sleepy listening, or stay up all night quarrelling about the ‘right’ version of the tale.' - ALYS KIHL

In 1997 Alys Kihl formed a theatre company, to dramatise folk and fairy tales, myths and legends. Twenty-five years on, in November 2022, over thirty performers from the full span of Wonderful Beast's professional existence came together on stage for a sell-out performance in our hometown of Aldeburgh. With excerpts from the best of our shows and new music and poetry specially commissioned for the piece, we gave the Beast a birthday celebration to remember.
