Orla's Moon and Orla and the Sun Tour
Spurred on by an overwhelming demand from families, libraries and Early Year’s organisations for more high-quality live performances for 0-3 years and their parents and carers, Wonderful Beast revived and developed both Orla and the Sun, and Orla’s Moon, our interactive music-theatre-storytelling shows. We were on the road for a three-week tour of libraries in Suffolk and an Early Childhood Festival in Queens Park, London, curated by Creative Futures UK. Our free booklets and CDs of the shows were snapped up by parents as a valuable legacy to be enjoyed and shared with their little ones.
Brilliant! Far exceeded expectations. Boys, 3 months, 2 years and 4 years all loved it. Orla’s Moon Mildenhall Library
“Perfectly pitched for my 16 months old. He was captivated, and I loved it too. The sensory elements were brilliant. Orla and the Sun, Lowestoft
Wonderful. Full of joy. Amazing to see how the babies responded. Such a safe atmosphere full of magic. Orla and the Sun, Early Years Festival, London

Orla's Moon 2017
music theatre for 0-3 years
composed by Jack Ross, written and directed by Zoë Palmer
'It’s the best thing I have taken my thirteenth month old daughter to so far.'
'Wonderful- beautiful music and tailor made for my two year old daughter who has Downs’ Syndrome and loves multi-sensory stuff. My six year old boy loved it too. A bit of joy.'
'Magical - totally absorbing experience for both of us. So glad that you gave us this opportunity! You are fabulous at working with young children - lots of brilliant interaction – friendly and warm and talented performers.'
Orla’s Moon is a magical opportunity for babies, infants and their parents to immerse themselves in a sensory moonlit world of dappled light and beautiful music and dance as Orla goes on a night adventure with her faithful dog, Silver, leading the way. The half hour show performed by our dancer, singer and two musicians, leads seamlessly into free play when the children can explore the props – shiny hoops, rice- filled balloons, instruments and glittering fragrant ‘berries’- and parents can enjoy a relaxed time with their offspring whilst the artists engage in creative play with the children. As they leave each adult is given a free booklet with follow up activities, plus a CD of the songs from the performance.
'It's absolutely amazing! We've listened to the CD 4 times since we saw the performance yesterday - she just loves the beautiful sounds and voices!'
