| Two week research and development (R and D) workshop led by Bruce Myers from the Peter Brook Company exploring storytelling techniques and ideas using material based on French wonder tales written by women in the late seventeenth century. The artistic director, a group of selected actors with a wide range of experience, a writer and two musicians worked with Myers in what was one of the most stimulating and valuable R and D workshops for Wonderful Beast, and one which helped to form the core group of the company.
A series of further workshops directed by Alys Kihl took place during the summer leading to two public work in progress performances at The French Institute and a private house. Marina Warner also gave a talk at the French Institute drawing on the skills of our performers to illustrate the stories.
